Established in 1981, Preferred Personnel of Canada Inc. has been working successfully with families, such as yours, from all over Canada and indeed, from all over the world. We have met the specific nanny/caregiver needs of each family we have worked with by matching them with carefully screened and highly qualified professionals.
If you haven’t considered a live-in or live-out nanny/caregiver for your family, you really owe it to yourself to consider the advantages. In a day-home or daycare situation your options can be rather limited. You rely on others to schedule and program important elements of your loved ones life. You really are not in control of many of the critical aspects of their lives. A live-in or live-out nanny/caregiver works within the boundaries of your wishes and allows you to be as hands-on as you would like to be.
There are also additional duties of a nanny/caregiver. They assist with light housekeeping, laundry duties, and meal prep. This is included as part of nanny/caregiver’s Job Description. Can you imagine the extra time this can give you to spend with your family? Not to mention, the peace of mind in knowing that someone is handling the day-to-day daunting tasks and thereby allowing you to spend more quality time with your family. This is what we strive to provide…. quality care for your children while you are away at work and more quality time with your family when you are at home.
What does a typical Preferred Personnel placement look like? There are as many variations as there are families! Do you live in a remote, rural setting or are you an urbanite? Are you a single parent family or a dual parent family? At “Preferred” nanny/caregiver could be live-in or live-out. A “Preferred” nanny/caregiver could be local or could be from overseas. Contracts are typically established for a two-year period, but it isn’t unheard of for contracts to be extended for another one or many more years.

Local nannies/caregivers can fill the needs of more immediate situations and typically can take 2-6 weeks to arrange, while overseas nannies/caregivers can be made available for live-in or live out situations within the timelines of the embassy from 30-44 hours a week. Whichever way you decide to go, Preferred Personnel is happy to guarantee candidates who are highly qualified and who have been carefully screened. Each nanny/caregiver has worked a minimum of 1 successful year as a nanny/caregiver in family setting away from their own families and many have significantly more experience. Security clearances and Child Welfare Checks and Medicals checks are also provided upon request. For your peace of mind, all placements are guaranteed for a one-year period.
Profiles of available nannies/caregivers will be made available to clients that are seriously considering our services. You will be part of the interviewing and hiring process at each step of the way!
