- A genuine love for children, the elderly or disabled persons.
- Ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate play/learning activities for children.
- Professional childcare, eldercare or special needs experience (not just babysitting).
- Able to commit to a family for a minimum of one year.
- A valid driver's license is preferred, but not necessary.
- CPR and first aid prior to employment or within first month of employment.
- Criminal police background check.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
Requirements for becoming a nanny on the
Live-In Caregiver Program:
- Minimum 72 units of post-secondary education or equivalency of Canadian high school diploma.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a professional caregiver or have a six months caregiver course (must be from an institution that is recognized by the Canadian government).
- Good medical history (Medical Exam/Clearance).
- Criminal background check from the country you are applying from.
- Must be able to speak good English.
